Completely exhausted, you sigh: it’s over. It’s done. See you next semester. Finally, you can call it a night without sleep and say goodbye to the endless tiredness that comes from days spent on a diet rich in coffee.
Knowing that it can sometimes be difficult to turn off the academic mode after the evaluation season, we have three suggestions to ease the transition:
1. First priority: rest. Test sheets are turned in, essays submitted, and the terror of oral presentations is over – great news, but the truth is, you’re most likely still feeling a thousand headaches.
Make sure you make up for lost hours of sleep and give your body a chance to recover before you start making new plans for the summer; the more rested you are, the better you’ll be able to make the next few months pay off.
2. Entertainment: a form of escape. Hours on end spent nose deep in books deserve to be replaced by an extended entertainment session-whether it’s finishing that series you left halfway through or seeing that movie that’s been on your list for months, take the opportunity to forget about the stress of the past few weeks.
In case you want to see something new, but don’t know where to start, don’t worry! When in doubt, just read some of the recommendations from other WIZZZ authors and you will find something new and wonderful to occupy your time.
3. A reward, you deserve it. Surviving appraisal season is the perfect excuse to pamper yourself with a reward – book a dinner at your favorite restaurant that you haven’t set foot in for too long, buy that jacket you’ve been eyeing for months, or book that beach weekend with your friends.
With a difficult period coming to an end, we all want to take a chance on that perfect little treat to boost morale.
